Our Future Regarding the Shutdown of Rec Room

As I'm sure you all know, we make our films within the Virtual Reality space known as Rec Room. Unfortunately, as I'm also sure you've heard, Rec Room will be shutting down June 1st of this year, 2026. So, considering this, what does that mean for ArrowLight?
BEFORE THE SHUTDOWN
Because of our love for this game, we'd like to make some sort of tribute to it before it goes down, we've had some ideas but haven't set on anything just yet. So as far as that goes, we'll try to keep you posted once we decide on something. As for The Sanctum 3, filming has wrapped (other than a few things we can't record just yet but should be able to before June 1st), so it should still be coming out as expected.
Same goes for the remastering of The Sanctum and as we are still considering it the remaster of The Sanctum 2: New Sanctum. Unfortunately, however, two months won't be enough time for the other projects we've announced. Not to say that they are cancelled, but they will more than likely, at least for now, be postponed.
AFTER THE SHUTDOWN ON JUNE 1ST
After Rec Room officially shuts down its services on June 1st, we will be taking a long-needed break. We've been at it non-stop since the creation of ArrowLight in 2023, originally making games in Rec Room, and eventually moving over to film with the start of The Sanctum Trilogy. As much as we all have loved creating, we've grown exhausted, especially with the tight schedule we had for filming The Sanctum 3.
So, after The Sanctum 3, the remasters of the first two films, and our tribute to Rec Room releases, we will be temporarily stepping away for some much-needed time off. Once we come back, however, we have some things we are looking into for continuing our filmmaking.
WHAT'S AFTER REC ROOM?
We plan to see what goes on with community-ran Rec Room servers, such as Radium. We aren't sure if we want to be set on using those to continue Rec Room filmmaking after the shutdown, but it could be a temporary option for series like The Sanctum: War of the Five Governments.
There is also a new game extremely similar to Rec Room in development titled Haven. This promising title could potentially be where we move our main filmmaking to once it releases. They have more information on the game in their Discord server here: https://discord.gg/cfzv6SSWcS As for our projects we had announced earlier this year, The Sanctum 3 will still come out as expected, as well as the remaster of The Sanctum and if we end up doing it, our remaster of The Sanctum 2: New Sanctum.
Blackjack: Broken Dreams won't be cancelled, but currently it is up in the air of what we will do for that as we won't have full body with Radium nor Haven, while we mainly aren't considering VRChat an option that could be a possibility for this series in particular. Another option being considered is if anyone who can 2D animate is willing to work for free just for the passion of the project, we might also consider that option.
As for Ashbound: The War of the Fallen Kingdom, it is also up in the air as well. Director Finncangame and Screenplay writer Keke are still going to write the script, at least that's the current plan.
As for our collaboration with TS-Hype's At Dead of Night, we will still help as best we can but at least currently there is a lot of stuff that we won't be able to help with due to time constraints and other things.
THANK YOU
With all this being said, we want to thank you all for your support over the years, it has truly meant a lot to us. We also want to thank the Rec Room film community; we don't know where we'd be without you. And finally, we want to thank Rec Room, for all the opportunities, memories, friendships, people we've met, and collaborations we were able to do and have because of this game.
Truly truly I say to you all, thank you for everything. We wouldn't be here without you.
With a wink and a wish,
The ArrowLight Team

Also just to note (we forgot to put it in the post forgive us!), Jesse Skyota's project is in the same state as Blackjack: Broken Dreams.
